One of Brown Polo's main goals is to make what can be a financially exclusive sport more open to college students of all backgrounds. Newport Polo also makes it a personal goal to dissolve the stigmas surrounding polo. Newport helps Brown to achieve this goal by offering a discount on lessons and offering a work-to-ride program that helps keep prices down for college students. Despite the assistance that Newport Polo has given us to keep costs down, the team is faced with significant expenses.

Club expenses include UPSA annual and tournament fees, competing in matches, buying gear, transportation fees, and lessons. While we receive some funding from Brown to cover these costs, it is nowhere near enough to cover all of it. Members still pay for all lessons out of pocket.

We also ask for help from donors to help the club grow to become more inclusive and more competitive. Though our players have shown that we do not need the most expensive equipment to win matches, we know that we have the potential to be even better with your assistance.
